Arcade has one very simple goal–they want to make belts better. And they’re doing it, creating more durable, functional, and comfortable designs for outdoor, everyday, and travel wear. Now their expertise comes together in a new design, the Arcade Motion Belt. Elegantly fusing comfort, practicality, and refined style, the Motion Belt moves effortlessly from the office to weekend getaways and everywhere in between.

Arcade Motion Belt

Stretch and Sheen

Arcade’s new flagship lifestyle belt features innovative first-to-market webbing that combines natural rubber and polypropylene created from repurposed, post-industrial plastic scrap. This gives the webbing an attractive satin finish and just enough stretch to ensure all-day comfort.

Natural rubber and polypropylene webbing

Lightweight Customized Comfort

The buckle is intentionally designed with mixed materials to deliver lightweight strength and functionality. While eliminating the weight penalty of a completely metal buckle. The motion features a low profile with a side-release, three-piece design that tapers at the ends. This thoughtful detail that allows the belt to pass easily through belt loops. The micro-adjustable buckle system also lets you dial in your perfect fit, so you really do get custom comfort. And pesky excess webbing isn’t an issue either thanks to an elastic loop that secures the webbing neatly in place.

Arcade tapered buckle

Easy Care, Easy Style

The Motion Belt is built with longevity in mind–to look and perform like new year after year. But if you feel the need to give it a refresh, it’s machine-washable for easy care, with air drying recommended to keep the belt in its prime.

Stretch belt

It’s also available in four attractive colorways including black-black, black-nickel, brown-nickel, and charcoal-gunmetal. Easy to pair with casual and formal outfits alike, this belt will become a wardrobe staple with its sleek performance and understated aesthetic. And with a retail price of $54.95, it offers solid value for money too.

Black Ember have a well-deserved reputation for creating bags that seamlessly fuse technical performance and slick urban style. Their newest creation, the Black Ember GRIP-SLING 12, solidifies this reputation with its multifunctional design and high-quality construction. The weatherproof modular sling moves smoothly between everyday and photography use. Designed to keep gear protected but accessible whether you’re reaching for a laptop, a camera, or day-to-day essentials.

Black Ember GRIP-SLING 12

The main compartment of the GRIP-12 can store your everyday essentials, work supplies, or travel gear. It also has a separate laptop compartment that fits up to a 14″ tech device for easy access on the move.

Black Ember GRIP-SLING 12

The bag also accommodates an optional modular camera insert that stores inside the main compartment. The insert fits a variety of camera configurations, and this new larger size can house a mirrorless set up easily. Or even a multi camera and drone set up!

Black Ember GRIP-SLING 12
Optional camera insert

The optional camera insert comes with Fidlock V-Buckle compression straps. These are handy for securing a tripod or other bulkier items such as a jacket to the base.

Black Ember GRIP-12

Conscientious Construction

The GRIP-12 is built with Black Ember’s durable BOND-STITCH construction and custom PFAS-free EmberTex textile. Abrasion-resistant and with a smooth hand feel, the fabric has a 1200×600 denier construction and bonded Hypalon panels for structure to allow easy packing. Mk II Watches Fulcrum

Best New Gear - Mk II Fulcrum

Based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, Mk II watches (pronounced Mark Two), have just launched the Fulcrum, which is a revisit of a preceding model, originally released in 2013. This new release gives the watch company a chance to refine and improve on their vision of the perfect 1970’s tool watch. It represents an intersection of design elements from issued watches US Forces soldiers would have used or been exposed to during duty in Vietnam or in training with their UK counterparts during this period. Mk II is the civilian arm of Tornek-Rayville and the Fulcrum offers an accessible alternative to watches only issued to those in service.

The Fulcrum 39 is a self-winding dive watch that’s been sized down to 39mm. It has lume at cardinal points of 12, 3, 6, and 9, with an optional datewheel at the 4:30 position. The case is made for maximum convenience with a screw-in case tube, drilled 20mm lugs, and a comfortable caseback. The stainless bezel is uni-directional with 120 clicks with an improved spring. It has a true anodized aluminum inlay that offers better impact resistance, while the double-domed crystal is AR-coated on the interior. The Fulcrum is powered by a Japanese 9015-90S5 movement to provide excellent accuracy and a lower cost of long-term ownership compared to the previous Soprod A10. Finally, the bracelet includes solid end links with quick-release spring bars and features the NodeX quick extension clasp. The watch also comes with a Nytex nylon strap as well as a rubber strap; both in 20 mm widths.

This limited-edition collaboration is available in just 20 numbered pieces and combines original artwork from Dutch artist DOES with SOLID GRAY’s futuristic pack design. Designed and made in the Netherlands, the backpack features an aluminum hard shell construction with a highly scratch-resistant artwork print. The bag has three exterior pockets for quick-access organization and is available in an eye-catching Glacier Grey/Lemon colorway as well as a more understated Black option.

Vollebak Antarctic Sweater – Light Blue Edition

Vollebak Antarctic Sweater - Light Blue Edition

The Guernsey sweater has been worn in some of the most demanding conditions on earth, by the likes of Ernest Shackleton and British and Irish fishermen who had to endure the harsh existence of life at sea. So Vollebak have paid tribute to this iconic piece with their own take on it, the Antarctic Sweater. It’s made with super-fine merino wool spun by a historic woollen mill on the coast of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Wind and water-resistant, while also insulating and breathable, the sweater features four different knitted textures across the body, collar, arms, and cuffs to maximize warmth. The body uses a rugged seed stitching to keep wind at bay, while a thick rib pattern on the high collar creates structure. A geometric zig-zag texture on the cuffs helps them cinch around your wrists, while the arms feature textures designed to mimic muscle patterns. And with the new launch of the Light Blue edition, it’s the perfect nod to seascapes and adventures off the beaten path.

Sheep Inc. Mountain Crewneck

Best New Gear - Sheep Inc. Mountain Crewneck

Sheep Inc. welcomes the latest addition to their carbon-negative knitwear collection with the Mountain Crewneck. Launching ahead of the World Ski Championships in Saalbach Austria, the piece is inspired by the Zwölferkogel peak in Hinterglemm near Salzburg where the championship races will take place, and nods to the brand co-founder Michael Wessely’s Austrian roots. The sweater is made in the UK using carbon-negative raw materials and renewable energy and comes in options for men and women. Available in Fawn Brown, Cobalt Blue, and Burnt Orange, it’s crafted with 100% traceable ZQ-certified merino wool for a breathable, moisture-wicking, and temperature-regulating design that moves easily from après-ski to everyday wear.

Filson x Ten Thousand Collection

Best New Gear - Filson x Ten Thousand Collection

Filson and Ten Thousand have teamed up on a new three-piece capsule collection that blends Filson’s hard-wearing durability and exclusive color palette with Ten Thousand’s cutting-edge approach to training gear for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. The collection includes the Filson x Ten Thousand Tactical Hoodie, the Filson x Ten Thousand Tactical Shirt, and the Filson x Ten Thousand Tactical Shorts. Each piece is made from durable, breathable materials for excellent mobility and performance during high-intensity activities. And they’ve been tested by the Seattle Seawolves rugby team to ensure long-lasting functionality.

Vollebak Ultralight Puffer with Dyneema and Ultralight Puffer Vest with Dyneema

Vollebak Ultralight Puffer with Dyneema and Ultralight Puffer Vest with Dyneema

Dyneema is the strongest fiber on earth, 15x stronger than steel on a weight-for-weight basis yet light enough to float on water. And Vollebak have incorporated this wonder fiber in two new releases, the Ultralight Puffer with Dyneema and Ultralight Puffer Vest with Dyneema. The puffer comes in Black and Khaki, while the vest comes in Black and Blue options. The vest weighs just 320 grams, with the jacket weighing only 450 grams. Each is reinforced with thousands of ultralight strands of 50-denier Dyneema, with each Dyneema strand placed just two millimeters apart for excellent reinforcement against scuffs and scrapes. Each piece also features recycled down insulation cleaned with geothermal water from natural springs.

Reigning Champ Lightweight Cordura Training Gear

Reigning Champ Lightweight Cordura

Reigning Champ, the versatile and often experimental clothing brand hailing from Canada, just dropped three new performance styles made from a next-level Japanese Cordura fabric that promises to be as soft as a t-shirt but as durable as your favorite pack.

This Lightweight Cordura is an advanced training fabric that combines the durability of Cordura with the comfort of knit construction. RC designed the pieces in their signature standard fit, with semi-raglan sleeves, underarm gussets, and bonded side panels. The pieces on offer include a t-shirt, long-sleeve, and tank top.

Buck Mason Welterweight Sweats Collection

Best New Gear - Buck Mason Welterweight Sweats Collection

You might not have explicitly known it, but you’ve experienced the lightweight journey sweats have taken. In reality, after the 1960’s, American athletic apparel shifted to more durable, lightweight, cotton jersey knits. This new collection from Buck Mason harkens back to the days when athletic sweats were beefier. Their Welterweight collection employs the same construction methods standard in those days, starting with a mid-weight French terry knit with brushed insides for softness. The dense fabric uses a series of flatlock stitching, ribbing the collar, cuffs, and hems, with ribbed gussets at the stress points for durability. The collection includes a hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, sweatshirt, and quarter zip in various colorways.

Mission Workshop Westward Pea Coat

Best New Gear - Mission Workshop Westward Pea Coat

In a bittersweet moment, Mission Workshop was able to squeeze in a final style to their Schoeller collection before the Swiss factory closes their doors, at the end of 2025. The 3-layer waterproof softshell Schoeller fabric from which the Westward Pea Coat is constructed is windproof, highly water-resistant, and breathable. The pea coat features a wool/nylon stretch-woven exterior, a soft micro-fleece interior, and a waterproof mid-layer membrane. The outer is treated with Schoeller’s NanoSphere, ensuring exceptional water and dirt repellence.

Outdoor

This limited-edition release features waterproof nubuck leather, an off-white birch colorway, a GORE-TEX liner, and a Vibram Wrap Tech Megagrip outsole designed for extra traction. Note that the collab runs half a size smaller than usual, so make sure you size up for the perfect fit.

Vuarnet Winter 2025 Collection

Vuarnet Winter 2025 Collection

As part of its brand relaunch, dubbed “IT’S A VUARNET DAY,” the legendary French eyewear company is set to unveil a new collection for Fall Winter 24/25. The iconic tagline comes from the 1984 Summer Olympics, held in Los Angeles. It is meant to invoke a renewed commitment to adventure, style, and authenticity, bridging Vuarnet’s past with a fresh vision for the future.

The collection debuts 10 new shapes and redefines Vuarnet’s catalog into three families: Atelier, Lifestyle, and Outdoor. The Atelier family is inspired by mountain exploration and combines elegance with performance. Arctic 01 and 02 join Glacier models in this collection.

The Lifestyle range features fan-favorite Legend, Edge, and Belvedere lines and now includes three new Belvedere shapes – 05, 06, and 07, and Alpine 01 and 02. Lastly, the Outdoor family is all about performance. Three new shapes (Altitude 01, 02, and 03) join ICE and Racing to round out the lineup.

Vuarnet is known for its quality and is the only eyewear brand that produces its own mineral lenses. Proprietary to the brand is its Lynx technology, which offers protection from sunlight directed to the upper part of the eyes and light reflections to the lower part through a unique bi-shaded mirror treatment.

Knog Scout Travel Tag

Knog Scout Travel Tag

Some believe that the days of carry-on luggage are numbered. Once the preferred method of carry for travelers due to the convenience, safety, and no-fee nature, the method may have proven too popular, leading to insufficient room in the overhead bins. Security is paramount if travelers are forced to move to using checked luggage. Knog, known for its lights and other cycling accessories, has just introduced the Scout Travel, a smart luggage tag, finder, and alarm. The sleek device is available in five colors. It has a QR code to store your contact information and integrates with Apple’s Find My network to quickly locate your luggage anytime and anywhere. Finally, it has a motion-sensitive 85 dB alarm, which can also send a notification to your phone (if it’s within Bluetooth range).

Pelican TRVL Luggage

Pelican TRVL Luggage

Pelican, the brand best known for making rugged cases, has taken the next step in its evolution, a move that surprised no one. The new TRVL collection is its luggage line, which consists of three new categories, two entirely new. Anchoring the collection is the original AIR line, which comprises its tried and true hard cases designed for transporting delicate and expensive equipment through the harshest conditions. The Aegis is a new hybrid offering of rolling duffels that can also be worn as a backpack. It protects like a hard case with the versatility of a soft case. Finally, the ATX, also known as Adventure Travel X-Over, is the offering that most closely resembles traditional civilian air travel luggage. Available in three sizes (carry-on and two additional check-in sizes), the ATX hard-sided roller luggage offers protection plus interior organization.

Visibility is a crucial element for staying safe in harsh alpine environments. So integrating bright colorways became a key design feature across many outdoor clothing brands. Those vibrant, eye-catching colorways seen on snowy slopes in grueling mountain climbs served a vital purpose, helping intrepid explorers to stand out in case search and rescue was required. Not to mention easily keeping tabs on fellow party members throughout expeditions. Of course, those statement colors also exuded a certain kind of fashion flair, which made its way off the slopes and onto city streets.

EVERGOODS Expedition Yellow Capsule

So when EVERGOODS were considering their winter 2024 capsule, they turned to vintage outdoor catalogs and historic photos of summit ascents for inspiration. While their gear isn’t designed to conquer the extremes of Everest, their crossover designs harness the utility of outdoor-focused performance and pair it with urban functionality and style. And Expedition Yellow salutes both these spheres.

EVERGOODS Expedition Yellow Capsule

EDC

Prometheus Design Werx SPD Ti-BarT

Best New Gear - Prometheus Design Werx SPD Ti-BarT

PDW offers an elegant take on the pocket pry bar with the Ti-BarT. Crafted with 6AL-4V titanium, the pry bar features details such as fine jimping, recessed hardware, and a fully chamfered edge. In addition to a pry bar, it also offers additional tools such as a bottle cap lifter, a hex bit driver integrated into the pocket clip, and an oxygen/gas tank wrench.

The James Brand × Timex Automatic GMT Emerald Edition

Best New Gear - The James Brand × Timex Automatic GMT Emerald Edition

Portland-based The James Brand is back with another one of their series of homerun collaborations with watchmaker Timex. They applied their aesthetic to a GMT wristpiece imbued in a jade-link emerald hue this time around. The titanium case has a case diameter of 41mm and is sandwiched in sapphire windows with an AR coating in front and a display back showing off the movement. The Automatic GMT is powered by the Miyota 9075, and you’ll be using a unidirectional bezel to track two additional time zones. It is water resistant to 200 meters and comes with both a titanium bracelet and resin strap attached to 20mm lugs. This watch is limited to 750 units.

Sanctum Titanium Hard Bar Kickstarter

Sanctum Titanium Hard Bar Kickstarter

At first glance, it’s difficult to grasp what Sanctum’s first product launch entails. It consists of two parts – the Hard Bar and the Overlord. Starting with the Hard Bar, you have a 5.2” titanium rigid sheath with an integral pocket clip, keychain hole, Ultem insert/window, a carabiner hole, and a main pry bar. Despite being made of lightweight material, the Hard Bar is a solid chunk of metal. What makes the whole package interesting is the Overlord, which is a stainless steel fixed-blade knife with just a 1.6” blade length. The unique feature here is how the knife sheaths into the pry bar via a compliant locking mechanism. It’s super satisfying and almost fidgety. The knife itself features a mini prybar/scraper of its own and a bottle opener at the top. So what’s the star of the show here? Is it the knife that fits in an interesting way into a titanium sheath? Or is it a chunky pry bar hiding a tiny knife when you need something sharper than a wedge? We’re leaning towards the latter here, but regardless of your use case, the Sanctum has you covered.

The James Brand Bolen Twist Pen

Best New Gear - The James Brand Bolen Twist Pen

The James Brand does an amazing job of advancing each of its categories in step with one another so no one area feels left behind. To that end, they just added the Bolen, a titanium twist-retractable pen, to their stables. The slim design was meant for pocket carry, and the twist mechanism means that there is no need to worry about a cap going missing or an accidental activation with a button. It uses the popular G2 Parker style refills, which are varied and plentiful.

The watch has a mineral glass and stainless steel case construction, with gold accents on the bezel and LCD ring and logos. Olight Arkfeld Ultra and Baton Turbo

Olight Arkfeld Ultra and Baton Turbo

Wedge-style flashlights are nothing new. Introduced a few years ago by different brands, the new form factor takes the cylindrical shape typical of torches and flattens it. This gives different (perhaps improved) ergonomics to the grip. Olight’s take, the Arkfeld, has gone through a couple of revisions, with the latest being introduced – the Arkfeld Ultra. Crafted from O-aluminum, Olight’s proprietary metal that is twice as tough as standard aluminum, the Ultra is tough. It combines a 1400-lumen white light with a 900mW UV light and green laser (perfect for presentations or precisely pointing out items at a distance).

Olight didn’t just stop with the Arkfeld. They also put on their upgrade caps and applied magic to the Baton. The light outputs a staggering 1000 lumens with a reach of over 500 meters. It features a dual battery engine, able to support rechargeable 18350 or a CR123A battery (remember those?). The embedded design prevents accidental activation, and the dashboard shows both brightness and power status clearly.

Skullcandy Icon ANC On-Ear Headphones

Skullcandy Icon ANC On-Ear Headphones

Twenty years after launching it, Skullcandy is reviving the Icon brand in their new ANC On-Ear Headphones. Though it has roots in the boardsports community, the new and improved Icon has improved active noise cancellation, sweat and water resistance, and a jaw-dropping 60 hours of battery life. The other quality-of-life features are largely software-based but shouldn’t go without mention. The new Icons offer Personal Sound tweaking, Stay Aware mode, Multipoint Pairing, and Spotify Tap to name a few.

Hamilton x Engineered Garments Khaki Field

Hamilton x Engineered Garments Khaki Field

In one of the year’s most exciting releases, Hamilton teamed up with influential Japanese fashion powerhouse Engineered Garments to produce what might be the best iteration of their Khaki Field watch (due to what they took away rather than added).

Originally started as an American watch brand, Hamilton now calls Switzerland home. In that time, they’ve become known for their Khaki Field line of watches—simple, legible, and mostly affordable timepieces inspired by the simple watches that adorned the wrists of those who served. Over the years, there have been many iterations with changes to the dial, materials, straps, bracelets, etc.

Engineered Garments was founded in 1999 by Daiki Suzuki and their pieces are inspired by workwear and military-style clothing. You can already see this is an ideal matchup. However, this collaboration sought to minimize and simplify rather than gratuitously add to the watch. As a result, you get a new Khaki Field in titanium, measuring 36mm in diameter, time-only black sunburst dial, and automatic H-10 movement with 80 hours of power reserve. What are the only hints that point to it being a collaboration? An engraving on the display back where a semi-circle window shows part of the movement. And, of course, it’s limited to 1,999 pieces to match up with the birth year of EG.

Oris Divers Date

Oris Divers Date

Perhaps their most famous line, Oris made some subtle but essential changes to refresh their Diver 65 into the new Divers Date. Approaching the 60th anniversary of their diver, Oris mostly kept the watch recognizable for their fan base, but they did make some tweaks. First, they developed a new condensed typeface for the dial. The hour markers now have a slightly beveled edge which you can see as the light hits it at certain angles.

The watch is slightly heavier but more compact and has increased water resistance to 200 meters. The rear now sports a new display caseback to admire the Oris Caliber 733 movement, with its 41 hours of power reserve. The bezel is now ceramic with a matte finish. To recap, the new Oris Divers Date comes in at 39mm diameter, 12.1mm thick, is available in four dial colors, has 200m of water resistance, and sits on a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp and quick change system. It’s priced at $2700 and available now.

Tactile Knife Ranger

Best New Gear - Tactile Knife Ranger

The classic slipjoint might be the quintessential pocket knife that many of us started our journey with. When it was time to collaborate with legendary knifemaker Jared Oeser, the team knew the slipjoint would be non-negotiable. Paying homage to their Texan roots, Oeser and Tactile went with a Bowie blade shape.

The Ranger is a classic design meshing with modern production with a hint of hand finishing. The spec sheet: the Ranger boasts Grade 5 Titanium handles, a Westinghouse micarta shield, a 3.15” MagnaCut steel blade, and a stainless steel backspring. Measuring 4” when closed and 7.3” with the blade fully extended, the Ranger is a perfect complement to your EDC.

FLEXTAIL Zero Flashlight 1200

FLEXTAIL Zero Flashlight 1200

An interesting company that made its name producing ultraportable pumps for air mattresses and inflatables plus insect repellents for camping has dipped their toes into the EDC world. They just launched their first flashlight, the Zero Flashlight 1200. As the name implies, it outputs a maximum of 1200 lumens with a 120-degree beam for flood coverage. In moonlight mode (1 lumen), it can stay on for 200 hours, which is quite the feat.

It sports a unique two-button configuration with the daily button allowing you to cycle through 4 modes while the emergency mode button goes between Ultra Bright, Strobe, and SOS modes. It is under 3 inches long and weighs just 1.65 oz with the battery. Finally, it has multiple carry and mounting options including a magnetic base, cap clip, wrist clip, lanyard and MOLLE webbing compatibility.

New Benchmade Bugout & Mini Bugout Colors

Benchmade Bugout & Mini Bugout Colors

Benchmade is always keeping things fresh with their new releases. This month they are introducing two new colorways for the Bugout and Mini Bugout lines. For the full-sized Bugout, they’ve introduced a Rusty Orange colorway with a Desert Verde Cerakote blade finish and a Dark Olive Grivory version sharing the same tough blade. For the smaller Bugout, there’s a Daybreak Yellow Mini Bugout and a Dark Purple one that is pretty eye-catching. As a refresher, the best-selling Bugout has a blade length of 3.235” and weighs just 1.8 oz, while the smaller brother tips the scales at 1.51 oz with a blade length of 2.82”. Both choices are super lightweight and easily pocketable.
