Dark Knight Edition | 5 Blacked-Out EDC Essentials

Hey Carryologists, Matt here from Urban EDC Supply with another instalment of EDC recommendations. And this month we had a bit of fun with it. We wanted to talk all-black EDC essentials… but with a twist. We challenged ourselves to find and curate EDC that the Dark Knight himself might carry. You know, if he didn’t have a billion dollar lab at his disposal… So this month’s selections are all-black. Badass. And perfect for your utility belt.

Victorinox Swiss Army Onyx, Signature Light

There are very few things in the DC world that are as iconic as a Batarang. The Victorinox Swiss Army Onyx, Signature Light is what the Dark Knight would use once his Batarang runs out. It has everything from a small blade and scissors, all the way to a pressurized ballpoint pen. 8 Total functions to be exact all in a 2.3-inch design. This would definitely be in Bruce Wayne’s pocket while the cape and belt wait to be donned. Oh, and the Victorinox logo on the black handle looks kinda like the bat signal, am I right?

Blackside Customs BSC-Y Yo-Yo

What do you think Batman does while he waits for the perfect moment to strike the bank robbers down? A Yo-Yo of course! Not just any Yo-Yo though, the Blackside Customs BSC-Y Yo-Yo in Aluminum. It’s fun and easily deployable with a quick flick of the wrist. It’s machined from lightweight aluminum into a classic domed shape. This Blackside Customs BSC-Y Yo-Yo is about 2 ounces and has perimeter scalloping for enhanced grip. Making for one responsive and stealthy piece of kit to play with in those ‘in-between moments’.

Tsubota Pearl Bolbo Double Flame Pipe Lighter

So obviously, Batman doesn’t have laser vision to light things on fire. So instead he would likely use the Tsubota Pearl Bolbo Double Flame Pipe Lighter. No doubt in the Matte Black version of the three available finishes. The Bolbo has a slimmer and taller design which appears to be made specifically for a utility belt or pocket. It is just over 2.5 inches tall and ¾ of an inch wide, and the Bolbo Double Flame Pipe Lighter uses butane gas and is designed for one-handed operation. The Dark Knight would only use the best when it comes to his tools and Tsubota is the pinnacle of iconic lighters.

Everyone loves pizza and that includes Batman (he chowed down on a piece of Pepperoni with the Ninja Turtles, in fact). Weirdly enough, we think Batman enjoys his pizza like he enjoys his nights – Dark! The Shire Post Mint Supreme Pizza Coin comes in a ‘Burt Pie’ variant that we know he would love. The coin even comes in a tiny hand-folded pizza box for display. This pizza has a set of toppings that consists of skull mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, bell pepper, pineapple, and a single anchovy. Use the wavy crust side to soothe your worry, or the rough topping side to help with the stress of saving Gotham.

Orijin Design Thinking Egg

Fighting crime can be stressful. So the Orijin Design Thinking Egg would come in handy for The Bat. It’s designed to remind you to slow things down, be more mindful, present, and more aware of our day-to-day, even when Gotham might be burning down.

The Lava stone Thinking Egg is made from solidified molten lava, and weighs in at 9g, and if your metaphorical crime-fighting was particularly stressful today, you can add a drop of essential oil into the porous rock for further relaxation. Win!
